Third sermon in a series from Romans 12-13, “A Living Sacrifice”, preached by Martin Parker on Sunday 19th May 2013. Text: Romans 12:1-2; 13:1-7. We discover that the root of our rebellion against authority lies much deeper than we think, and consider three areas of authority established by God: parents, government and church leaderships. Finally we are reminded that we should submit to authority not only for fear of punishment but because of conscience and because it is God’s “good, pleasing and perfect will”.
