Tenth sermon in the series “Believing God’s Promise” (Genesis 12-22) preached by Martin Parker on Sunday 24th March 2013. Text: Genesis 21. As God fulfills His promise we see the faithfulness of God, the obedience of Abraham, the joy of Sarah – yet disharmony in the home! Abraham must make difficult choices and cling only to the promises of God, sacrificing Ishamael and entrusting him to God. Abraham bears witness that he belongs to God by displaying God’s presence, by living at peace with Abimilech and by worshipping the eternal God.
